CNY IDS

translation: Chinese New Year International District-Style

This was kind of a spur of the moment trip since until about 36 hours before weather.com said that there was going to be rain. As it was the high was about 42 and it was pretty sunny. We got there a little before 11 even though things weren't supposed to start until noon. Good thing, too, since we got parking that was pretty close. After the Japanese festival last year and not being able to see much of anything we were going to be there early! We ate lunch at Tai Tung which was supposed to be good but I wasn't that impressed. Next time we'll try Mike's Noodle House for wonton mein or other stuff. The smells though were heavenly as you were walking around.

Playing in the "Sounds of Culture" tent.

Like the Starbucks tent? LOL!

Gate to Chinatown/International District

The procession made its way to the gate and set off firecrackers.

How cute is this???? Actually there were lots of kids dressed up in really cute outfits but this was the only picture that I took of them.
