STP 2009

John flew out from ATL to do the Seattle to Portland (STP) ride with Jimmy. Woke up Saturday morning at 3:30 to load the truck and drive to UW where the start of the race was.

At the light trying to turn back up the ramp to head home. Just for documentation purposes...

Us leaving the parking lot where we dropped off the guys. The line stretched for a VERY long way up the ramp and down the street.

Poor Hayley. I kept telling her over and over again that she was tired and should take a nap. She kept denying it and was quite whiny. Next thing I know she's conked out.

Sunday: Roughly 2 hour and 15 minute drive down to Portland. Would've gone much faster if people in this area could freaking drive. It drizzles/rains and everyone freaks out and drives slower. Hello?!?!?! It rains all the time here. Plus they like driving in the left lane. At the speed limit or if you're lucky 5 miles above it. If you see my headlights about to go up your butt, get out of my way!

Off to go find the guys....

The finish line. By the sounds of it, we just missed them crossing it by about 15 minutes. DOH!

I had just tried to call Jimmy again to find out where he was and took this picture. We were looking around trying to find him and John and guess what we saw?!?!?

Poor John was trying to stay awake to watch the 9 pm showing of the day's Tour.

The drive back home took almost 5 hours. 2 hours were spent in BUMPER TO BUMPER traffic from south of Olympia to around Fife. WTF?
